Pre-school education before school starts

Strawberrys Pre-School

At Strawberrys Pre-school we understand that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. We consider the individual needs, interests, and stage of development of each child in our care, and use this information to plan a challenging and enjoyable experience, which is delivered through adult-led and child-initiated activities. Each child has an assigned key person whose role is to help ensure that every child’s learning and care is tailored to meet their individual needs. At the end of the session your child’s key person will be available to discuss your child’s day.

Our Pre-school is for children aged from three years until they start school. Children normally start full time at infant school the September following their fourth birthday. This is called the reception year.

When your child is ready to start school we can arrange for their teacher to visit them at Strawberrys. This is a good time for us to share your child’s Learning Journey with their new teacher helping to provide your child with a smooth transition into school.

Under the governments early years programme all three and four year olds are entitled to free part time education from the term following their third birthday until they start school. A part time place is up to 15 hours a week for 38 weeks a year.
